I. Professional Profile
The major of Agricultural Resources and Environment, formerly known as the Major of Soil Agrochemistry and The Major of Soil-Plant Nutrition, began to recruit students in 1986 and began undergraduate teaching in 1989. In accordance with the basic requirements of the adjustment of the major by the State Education Commission, the major was renamed as Agricultural Resources and Environment in 1999. Since 2000, it has been recruiting students from many provinces. This major was established as a key major in Yunnan Province in 2009. It relies on the provincial key discipline of Agricultural Resources Utilization, provincial Key Laboratory of Agricultural Resources and Environment, and two master programs of plant Nutrition and soil science. There is a teaching and scientific research team of 16 members, including 2 professors, 9 associate professors, 12 doctoral students, 1 on-the-job doctoral candidate, and 4 overseas returnees. Main courses include plant nutrition and fertilizer science, soil science, soil-plant-environment analysis, introduction to agricultural environmental protection, geological geomorphology, soil geography, agricultural environment monitoring, soil resources investigation and evaluation, plant nutrition research method, fertilization and environment, water and soil conservation, etc.
