Yunnan province is located in China's southwest, is located in the upstream of many domestic and international river, is one of the most abundant biodiversity areas in the world, with complex geology and climate, formed a variety of agricultural ecosystem, a important agricultural ecological security barrier is the southwest of the country, in the national ecological environment protection and ecological security system has an important role. In addition, Yunnan province is a typical plateau mountainous province with high mountains and deep valleys, concentrated rainfall and fragile ecology. In addition, the mining and smelting of metal minerals, excessive reclamation and other production activities have led to the increasingly serious pollution and destruction of yunnan's ecological environment. In view of the above situation, our university applied for the ecology major in 2013, which is affiliated to the College of Resources and Environment of Yunnan Agricultural University. The teaching and research focus of this major is mainly on ecological agriculture, agricultural ecology and restoration ecology. In 2014, we enrolled undergraduates majoring in ecology.

Professional main subject for the ecology of the ecology, the main course has advanced mathematics, chemistry, biological chemistry, botany, plant physiology, ecology, environmental soil science, physical geography, biostatistics, agricultural ecology, ecological engineering, environmental monitoring, environmental impact assessment, restoration ecology, ecology, ecological planning and design of management, etc.

This major is suitable for graduates to engage in research, teaching, development, planning and management in scientific research institutions, universities, enterprises and administrative departments related to ecology, environment, agriculture and forestry, meteorology and water conservancy.

High quality interdisciplinary talents who are able to engage in research, teaching, development, planning and management in scientific research institutions, universities, enterprises and institutions and administrative departments related to ecology, environment, agriculture and forestry, meteorology and water conservancy. 1. Teaching staff

Ecology major of Yunnan Agricultural University has formed a teaching staff with high academic level and reasonable structure after years of teaching staff construction. Currently, there are 17 teachers engaged in this major, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 senior laboratory engineer and 9 lecturers. 47% of the teachers have senior professional titles. The educational level of the teachers is high, 11 of them have doctor's degree, 5 of them have master's degree, the proportion of teachers with doctor's degree and master's degree is 94%.
